Mr.President,itisnaturaltoantodulgetheilsionsofhope.Weareapttoshutoureyesagastapafultruth,andlistentothesongofthatSiren,tillshetransforstobeasts.Isthisthepartofwisen,engagedagreatandarduleforliberty?Arewedisposedtobeofthenuberofthosewho,havgeye,seenot,andhavgears,hearnot,thethgswhichsonearlyheirteporalsalvation?Forypart,whateveranguishofspirititayst,Iawillgtoknowthewholetruth;toknowtheworstandtoprovideforit.
